Photo studio retarded-ness

Second post of today guys!
We also spent some time in the schools photo studio during this lecture. We learned how to adjust the light settings, use other types of reflectors, and something called a soft box (you use this to soften the flash when you take pictures) We also had to work with camera settings and experiment with different settings to get different results.
In the beginning this was fun and all, but we got bored faster than you'd think. I am therefore going to show you the evolution of photos taken in the studio. Let's just say,we had fun and these are just a few of the huge bunch of pictures we actually took.

Pictures of profiles

Hey again guys!
Today we've been doing a lot of things. At the beginning of the lecture we got a short introduction to using something called a reflector. It's kind of a giant round circle that you can cover in fabric made out of different colors; black, white, silver and gold. You use this reflector to guide light away or into the picture, create warm or cold light so that you get more out of your photos. Here are some examples of how we used the "golden" reflector to heat up our pictures, and as you can see that works quite well!

On the next picture we used a different reflector, we used the silver one to brighten the dark side of the photo and get rid of unwanted shadows.

What's fake with you then?

Once again, hey guys!
Today I'm gonna talk a bit about photoshopping, what's reala and what's not. And later on I'll be posting an instruction on how to edit you'r own photos.

But first things first. Everything you see on the covers of magasines, on tv and other forms of media have been edited in some form. This can be allright and all, but there is a fine line between a slight edit and a complete overkill.

To show you I got 3 pictures here. First one is the original:

This is a nice picture and all, but I wanted to make the colors a bit brighter, and the eyes pop a bit more. The next picture is the natural edit, yes you might be able to see that it has had some work done, but it still looks okay.

And the last picture, here I have just taken everything a bit to far. As you can see, it doesn't take much, but it shows.
